Finished Shoulder Pad and Sword Detail

Here we go- shoulder pad with the rods inserted to be cut.

...and the buster with the trial greenstuff bandages... doesn't look right. It's easy to manipulate the damage on them, but they're inconsistent... back to the drawing board...

Cloud at 65% Completion

Alright... from the last post, I said I didn't do Cloud's signature shoulder pad- well, here they are. If you're sharp, you've noticed the hair has changed slightly. Remember what I said about making the hair too thin? Yup, a slight drop or something (don't even remember that happening) caused the most prominent spike to crack. Dammit. So... redoing it with a bit of structure to support the weight... ugh... not as hot, but I'll fix that.

Front view- holes are in the shoulder-pad putty, but no copper wire to simulate the rods.. yet.

Backview with the cracked hair. Hurts my feelings... also, a good look at the leg armor too!

Back view without the wing- the hole is a structural joint I made, and you can see where the wing will join with the scarf area, as well as where I modelled the backstrap up to the wing area.
Current ideas-
1) Re-do hair or at least figure out how to fix his spikes...
2) Small details I may or may not get into - legs still need cross straps, bone-arm still needs metal arm-bands and skeletal-bamboo... thingys... (google Kingdom Hearts Cloud and look at his claw arm- you'll see what I mean)
3) Putty up his ass crack...

Cloud Progress

This is probably going to look strange seeing the jump from the first post being a naked metal skin-suit body shaved down (GW 40K Assassin enthusiasts will know exactly what parts I shaved down if they take a close look at the body) to being a fully created body with details and almost all the fixings.

Here he is with the hair, the main cloak portion, his claw hand, his boots, pants (no detail straps), and leg armor (belts included) complete. The hair... if you want to try it, make sure it's supported. Too thin, and a small tumble will crack that stuff right off. Too thick... and yea, it won't look right. Texturing such thin pieces sucks. I was also wondering if I should cover the bottom half of his face with the cloak, like the KH Cloud... hmm...

Here he is with the fabled wing- this one is off an old Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Gargoyle my bro had- the primer job is at least a decade old... I've always believed in not making a perfect photo-copy of anything I made. You can see it in movies, you can see it in art work- if I made a perfect carbon copy of Tetsuya Nomura's art (aka, my first Cloud) the mini would be "flat" compared to other minis... hence, never a perfect carbon copy- an imitation, but a version all my own.
Side view with wing (it had to be removed as I didn't finish Cloud's signature FFVII shoulder pad with the 3 metal bars coming out of it)

Back View- I'm going to use more putty to go over the wing, make it look like he draped his scarf, and also mod the strap coming from his waist to accomodate the wing. Will I mod the wing itself to look like KH Cloud's "Nobody-style" bat wing? Maybe, maybe not.
**Note to self- lightly putty over asscrack... stupid skin suits... lookin' like some assless chaps, yo.

Hive Fleet Izanagi in the Making

I just realized that my first post had nothing to do with Hive Fleet Izanagi for which this blog is named after... (HFI Creations) So a short sum- I bought a Hive Tyrant and the newest (yet crappy w/o the Carnifex included in the old) Battle Force about a week before my GMAT test (read: Effin' bad idea). Currently, I've assembled 100%, based 100%, primered 50% and test-sprayed 30% of those with the new GW Spray Gun. Sweetness. Without further ado...

Hive Fleet Izanagi!!

My Tyranid Warriors assembled (no magnets on this batch), Ripper Swarms, and three Hormagaunts that await spraying.

Termagaunts and Genestealers swarming my art desk- note their bases- and the ones above. I've resolved to give each and every model the TLC it deserves. Unfortunately, I've got a lot of love... and each base is becoming more and more elaborate.

My unfinished Tyrant- Yes, that's right. Those are insect wings modelled after bumblebee queen wings... and yes, he's missing the lower two sets of vents on his back. And yes, he has a stinger on his tail. Will he be colored black and yellow or some form thereof? NO. Hive Fleet Izanagi has its own scheme.
Next post on these guys, I'll do close-ups on the bases, and hopefully have pics of colored guys.
--End Synaptic Transmission--

From the ashes... a phoenix shall rise...

Several years ago, (and by several, I probably mean a decade... about a year or so after FFVII came out and made rakish spiked hair and over-sized swords awesome, and the word "Buster" mean anything other than a D-bag) I created a miniature-version of the iconic hero Cloud Strife. It was a work of love, and one of my great masterpieces lost in the Great Family Exodus. I cried, I pined... and now, after so long, I've decided to create a better version... the Cloud/Vincent hybrid from Kingdom Hearts...

The new Buster Sword... originally was a putty popsicle of about 3/4" wide and almost 2" tall... now about 3/5" wide and still about 1.5" tall... still way too big, but I plan to do a lot of cutting/detailing on it.

The Culexus Assassin from Games Workshop I intend to use as a base. I actually created more than just Cloud too- Vampire Hunter D, Rurouni Kenshin, Ashley Riot, Predator, and Cloud... Ashley Riot actually also used the same base... and damn, do I miss those models too...

Anywho, look at the length of the carved down blade! Dammit... Still too long.

The Beginnings of HFI Creations

Hello, and welcome to my page! It's pretty scarce right now, but very soon, it'll be filled with custom projects and the creation/expansion of my Tyranid force, named Hive Fleet Izanagi. This page is in now way affiliated with Games Workshop, but merely a place to showcase my collections. Stay tuned, and enjoy!
